Dr. Jennifer Staniec grew up on a farm in Tennessee. She attended Auburn University for her BS degree in Zoology and completed her doctorate at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her interest in new adventures brought her to San Luis Obispo where she fell in love with the local community. Early in her career, Jennifer enjoyed working in a mixed animal practice with a strong interest in equine medicine and reproduction. Later, she focused mainly on small animal medicine and surgery with some exposure to exotic companion animals. From about 2014 to 2022, she enjoyed teaching various classes within Cal Poly’s Animal Science Department. Recently, she moved away from academia and returned to general practice by joining the wonderful team at Vetama. Dr. Staniec has three children in high school and enjoys horseback riding, running, and reading, and she welcomes opportunities in travel as well. Her critter collection includes two dogs (Remi and Daisy), one cat (Morty) and an assortment of eleven chickens. 

Fun fact: Dr Staniec and Dr. Dorian worked together in the very beginning of their careers.
