Who We Are

Dr. Raffy Dorian
Dr. Raffy Dorian is a dedicated small animal veterinarian with more than two decades of experience in clinical care, business leadership, and veterinary education. Raised in Fresno, California, he studied Animal Science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before obtaining his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from UC Davis in 1996 where he had a clinical focus on internal medicine, preventive care, and emergency medicine. In 1999, he returned to UC Davis to complete a Master’s in Preventive Veterinary Medicine (MPVM),
Dr. Dorian has provided small animal care in San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, and San Diego counties, founding and leading several successful veterinary practices. His ventures include founding Mobile Veterinary Practice in 2001, an equine and small animal ambulatory service in San Diego County, Market Street Veterinary Clinic, the first small animal clinic in downtown San Diego, and co-ownership of WindanSea Veterinary Clinic, a full-service hospital in La Jolla. In 2017, he founded Central Coast Veterinary Services, offering mobile small animal care in San Luis Obispo County, and later co-founded Vetama, a mobile veterinary business model designed to help veterinarians achieve greater autonomy and work-life balance.
Committed to advancing the profession, Dr. Dorian has served as a veterinary expert witness and consultant for the California Veterinary Medical Board, private law firms, and law enforcement agencies. He has also acted as a certified representative for the American Humane Association Film and Television Unit, ensuring the safety of animal actors on set.
Dr. Dorian is passionate about education and mentorship, having lectured at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, served as an advisor to the UC San Diego Pre-Veterinary Student Association, and mentored more than one hundred students into veterinary school. His media outreach has included appearances on San Diego Living, Good Morning San Diego, and hosting his own local radio program A Place for the Animals.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Dorian remains committed to promoting animal welfare, supporting the local pet community, and mentoring future veterinary professionals.
